Paper? done.

Phew! I think I'm finally done with my paper. I had SUCH a hard time relating Open Access to the other two books- though Glut also seemed pretty off-kilter. I hope Sue can see where I'm trying to draw them all together and that it's a cohesive paper- here's hoping!

Scopus and Zotero are NOT my friends

And can I just say that I have since revoked my "love" for Zotero? It does not accept anything from Scopus- it keeps saying there is a Translation Error. And after re-formatting Firefox and it's extensions, I STILL can't get it to work. Scopus + Zotero = not friends. BOO! What's the point, then?

report woes

Oh my gosh.
I am absolutely mush-brained with this paper. These books all blurred together for me and I can't write a single coherent sentence. I would much rather take a nap than try to piece together what to say....

Well then

Jing is really frustrating. It crashes OFTEN. I did my presentation several times before it actually took hold without crashing. Grrr! It seems like it could be a good program if it didn't crash so often...

My guinea pigs are running all over the place, it's really humorous :)

Time to get crackin on the book report.

Zotero - Assignment 4

Geez

Wow I am having a hard time finding the time to post blogs here... I swear I will get more time. Right?

I AM MOVING TO PITTSBURGH! I am going to finish taking my classes on campus. I've decided to do this so that, hopefully, I can finish my degree within about a year or so.

I was surprised at my good grade on the Double Fold paper- not because I think it was a bad paper, but because it was so biased. I basically spent the entire paper blasting the author for his condescension. But I really, really enjoyed the book. A lot more than I thought I would. Conspiracy theories aside. Because ultimately, it gave me something to think about.

I am having a harder time with Scholarship- though Glut and Access Principal are coming along more easily. It's hard to get through these 3 books! I'm worried my paper will be disjointed and confused.

But for now, I'll finish up my Zotero assignment. I have really come to love Zotero (as I love Firefox) because of the helpfulness of the program. It's just so easy and helpful! haha. But Jing is another issue. I loved the Introduction to Jing video that I watched last week- it was so corny... "Jing is SO easy to use! It's fabulous! Yay Jing!" haha... but yes well. If only it was ACTUALLY that easy to use.

Does anyone read this? Hello out there? :)

Week 4

Well, I'm still working hard to keep up but I think I've got my head above water- at least for now. I finished the World Cat Assignment. I need to catch up on some of the readings and finish my Double Fold paper... which is entirely my vendetta against Baker. I just find it hard to take him seriously when he is so spiteful and cruel. My paper is a review, yes, but it's a critical one. I hope I am doing the review correctly- it's so hard to review this book in 1000 words. I keep deleting entire paragraphs and then rewriting it, because there is so much I want to say. I really enjoyed the book- or at least, it really riled me up, and I think that's a good thing.
Off to NY tomorrow to pick up my boyfriend... today was a miserable day which included my car getting towed. So hopefully tomorrow will be better and it is, of course, a brand new day.
